"Step 3 Plus" of The Health Promoting Dental Practice Award

This award has been held every year between 2009 till 2012* and requires us to meet certain guidelines for promoting oral health in the practice. These include:

• Level 2 stop smoking advisors (2 specialised members of staff but ALL staff also trained in brief intervention).
• One member of staff is a recognised member of an oral health promotion society (NOHPG).
• Oral health assessment carried out for all patients, with support tailored to each individual patient's need.
• Specialist oral health educators.

*this scheme ended in 2012.
